First Inter -House Athletic Meet

SKP Vanitha International School held its First Inter -House Athletic Meet -2018-19 on 2nd February 2019. The aim behind holding the event was to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork and fondness for sports in children. The day was a fun filled fest of laughter, energy and delight as all the students of SKPVIS presented and participated in various activities under the eager eyes of parents.

The Inter -House Athletic Meet began by invoking the almighty by School prayer followed by Tamil Thai Vazhthu . The esteemed Chairman Mr.K.Karunanithi and Honorable Principal Ms Pratibha Shyam took the salute. The oath taking ceremony was administered by the SPL Ms Safiya of grade VIII and the students solemnly pledged to uphold the spirit of true sportsmanship.

The parents and the invited guests entered into the spirit of occasion when Cultural Extravaganza had started. The students of grade VI to VII displayed the different Asanas of Yoga. The Skpvians exhibited their energy, enthusiasm and team work through a wonderful Pyramid Formation. The audience was mesmerized by the Skill Drill which was energetically manifested by the trained students. The primary wing stole the heart of the audience with Chingpong Drill, Chair Drill,Pompom Drill. With the marvelous footsteps along with Vande Mataram Song and the tri-colour costumes the boys of grade V exhibited a patriotic atmosphere among the audience; The proud parents could be seen filled with happiness to see the energetic performance of their children. The air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young performers.

The parents also enthusiastically participated in the scheduled event ‘Musical Chair’ for them. When the Relay Race started, The zealous audience, gathered in large numbers, constantly applauded the enthusiastic young sports stars. As the budding athletes of SKPVIS ran for the finishing line, the school campus reverberated with enthusiastic cheers from the spectators.

Recognizing exceptional talents and achievements in the arena of sports and games, the venerable Chief Guest Mr K. Pitchandi who is the MLA of Kilpanathur and the Respected Chairman awarded the medals and the certificates to the winners of the various sports events. The Newton House was declared the Champion House. It was a proud moment for them to carry away most of the trophies and medals.

After the prize distribution ceremony, the respected Principal gave a short speech highlighting the importance of sports in students’ life. Lastly by lowering Sports Flag the honourable chairman declared the sports meet closed and students’ representative presented the vote of thanks.
